When booking your wedding cake I require a £100 deposit. This deposit is Non Refundable should you cancel your order for any reason. Four weeks prior to your event you will receive an invoice for the balance. The balance must be cleared 3 weeks before the collection or delivery of your cake.
Once the balance has been paid, work will commence on your cake.
In the unfortunate event of cancelling less than 21 days prior to the event, we will refund 50% of the full amount paid, .
any other refunds are at my discretion.
I can take payment by cheque or bank transfer, details are available on request or can be found on your invoice.
If requested I will deliver your cake to your venue at a pre-arranged time. Delivery charges can be provided on request where we can calculate the journey to your location. However, to most local venues such as Eltham Palace, The Tudor Barn, Rowhill Grange and Bromley Court Hotel delivery and set up is offered as a complimentary service.
I will liaise closely with your Hotel or event co-ordinator to ensure that delivery is made at the best possible time.
On occasion I am faced with severe weather conditions, public unrest, or other unexpected events that may make your venue inaccessible. You can be assured that I will always do my absolute best to deliver as pre-arranged. It hasn't happened yet but should any 'act of god' situation arise I would be in touch and will always work towards a solution.
I can leave your cake with the banqueting team and sometimes due to the nature of the venue this has to be done.
However, I prefer to set up and display the cake myself as I want to ensure that your cake and table are looking beautiful. I am only too happy to sprinkle petals, locate knives, straighten tablecloths and tie ribbons. I will also add a little sparkle or add some extra décor if I think this will enhance the beauty of the display. I strive to leave everything looking perfect.
Cakes that are collected from my premises are always boxed for transportation. You will be provided with full instruction on the care and handling of your cake. I always recommend you collect your cake in a vehicle preferably with a flat boot area where you can place your cake box.
Tiered cakes can be surprisingly heavy. I cannot take any responsibility for any damage that may occur to the cake once it has left my premises.
I am happy to make alterations to your cake design and order up to 4 weeks prior to your event date. If ordering cupcakes or mini cakes you may also alter the amount of your order. Please be aware that this may affect the balance due and your invoice will be adjusted accordingly.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your cake order, please just call.
I have a range of stands for hire on which to display your cake, please just ask to see if I have something that will compliment your decor or theme.
With stand hire I ask for a refundable £50 deposit on pedestal stands and tiered acrylic stands. This is payable with your final cake payment. I ask that all stands are returned to me by prior arrangement a maximum of 3 days after the event. Deposits are refunded within 48 hours of a return by arrangement.
If stands are not returned, returned damaged or with pieces missing your deposit is forfeited. Any refund is made at my discretion.
With stand hire you will be provided with a box, Stands must be returned in the box it is provided in.
Flowers and In-edible items
At the request of the client, cakes sometimes contain inedible items such as brooches, ribbons, flowers and feathers etc. These Items must be removed before serving and I accept no responsibility for any harm these may cause.
Your event team or caterer will be given stringent guidelines as to the location of any inedible items in accordance with food safety guidelines
I can provide flowers to decorate your cake, or I can liaise directly with your florist. Be aware that some flowers are not suitable for cake decoration, or may be toxic if eaten and all foliage must be removed before serving. Any contamination to your cake is not my responsibility.
I am happy to offer suggestions on cakes that are ‘Free From’, Eggs, nuts, alcohol and wheat are all common requests. Nuts are frequently used in our kitchen however not all of our cakes contain them. Please be aware. Whilst we make sure we take every step to avoid cross contamination with any allergens, I cannot be held responsible for any ingredient contaminated at source or any harm that may occur.
